Depression is Bollocks

So, this is it: My blog. My very first post. And, this is me: the most unlikely to blog or narci-freak online; one of the rare social media refuseniks left on Earth.

Why blog? In the words of the infamous Sir Edmond Hillary, “because it’s there.” Or in my web maven’s words, because I “have a blog, so blether away on it.”

2024, Feb 29’s blether: My coffee is black and strong. It helps to keep clinical depression at bay, but depression is probably bollocks. In my case, I’m thinking it is a completely natural reaction/adaptation to a cascade of circumstances, but for some reason (and I think it has to do with realizing a revenue stream and marketing opportunity) it is given a name and seen as something that needs to be fixed.

In a nutshell: life sucks! When is sucks for a long time and there’s no hope of it sucking less, it is natural to become depressed! See that word ‘natural’. So, why is it so important to override a natural phenomena, usually at great expense? Life won’t suck any less. It may just suck more because you’ve gone broke trying to fix a natural reaction. And there is another word, ‘reaction.’ And someone else famous said, ‘for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction.’ Maybe

Depression (a reaction) could be alleviated by modifying the action leading to the reaction.
